How To Apply

So you want to be part of this scheme to tackle retail crime and develop yourself professionally and personally with an incredible range of skills and confidence. How do you go about it? There are a number of ways in which you can apply to become a ShopWatch Special Constable.

To start your application to the Metropolitan Police (Greater and Central London) ShopWatch scheme, just download and complete the simple one-page

Contact the Met's Recruitment Line directly on 0845 727 2212, making sure you tell the team member you speak to that you are applying for ShopWatch - you can do this regardless of whether your employer has an internal recruitment process or not.

If you want to apply for ShopWatch outside of the Metropolitan Police area, please click here to select your area and find the contact details for your local police team. Just get in touch with them and ask if your local force is recruiting ShopWatch Special Constables.

Note:
Your employer may have an internal ShopWatch recruitment process in place - if so, speak to your store manager or area/regional manager.

Before ShopWatch is launched in certain areas, there may be a Recruitment Open Event organised and run by the Metropolitan Police, so you can find out more before deciding whether or not it's for you.
